Korean Labor Standards Act

Labour Standards Act (LSA), which is the main law regulating minimum standards for a wide range of work conditions. Independent contractor/self-employed individuals who offer their services for a fee without being subject to the direct supervision and control of the recipient are not entitled to the protections of the LSA. The relationship between the service provider and the service recipient is based on the contract between those parties and is a matter of civil law. Independent contractors are not entitled to the employment rights provided in the LSA.
