Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale (Morocco)

Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale (CNSS)

It was in 1959 that the social security system for employees in industry, commerce and the liberal professions was established, which is managed by the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).

The mission of the CNSS is to protect insured persons against the risk of loss of income in the event of illness, maternity, invalidity and old age, and to provide them with family allowances and to grant their dependents an allowance death and a survivors’ pension.

Entering into force on April 1, 1961, this system has since been extended to the agricultural and craft sectors. It has also seen improvements and extensions of the services provided and the establishment of a network of health establishments in the form of polyclinics.
