1099-MISC

The 1099-MISC form is a tax document used by businesses to report payments made to freelancers, independent contractors, and other non-employees. Employers must issue a 1099-MISC form to any individual or business to whom they paid $600 or more during the tax year for services provided. The form includes the recipient’s name, address, and Social Security Number or Employer Identification Number (EIN), along with the total amount paid during the year.

The IRS (Internal Revenue Service) website provides more details about 1099-MISC forms as well as a downloadable version of the form, here.
