Robust Capabilities Or User Experience – Which Is Best In A Technology Partner?
Admin December 8, 2021
Today’s technology landscape comprises thousands of niche tools which can each perform critical individual processes that help an organization achieve its goals.
If you’re looking at new technology systems to complement your existing stack, you’ll most likely be faced with the difficult decision about which platform to move forward with. And if you make the wrong decision – it can be extremely costly in both time and budget for your company.
Every tool comes with its own pros and cons, but usually the decision making comes down to a few key factors.
In my experience as both an HRIS Technology Assessment Consultant, an HRIS Implementation Manager, and now as Worksuite’s Director of Customer Success – I’ve seen first-hand the multitude of deciding factors that companies use to select a new technology partner.
Besides cost, the key stakeholders’ decisions often come down to two things:
- Robust capabilities; or
- User Experience
Companies need technology that provides them with the functionality to perform critical functions – but they also need this technology to be adopted by all of their end users to make implementation successful.
This total adoption issue is frequently the intersection between Finance, IT, HR, and Change Management teams.
Can you have robust features AND a great user experience?
While the two key factors in new technology decisions mostly come down to two main issues, the question remains – why can’t you have both robust features AND provide an excellent user experience?
Customers need solutions that meet their unique and complex business needs, while also allowing for a clean, user-friendly UI/UX to ensure company-wide adoption.
So how do you build these complex and robust features in a technology platform – without confusing and overwhelming all the users across your departments? The answer is in the core modules of a technology tool.
At Worksuite, our platform is broken down into five key modules, which serve as the building blocks for an endless amount of use cases:
- Talent Directory
- Workflows
- Job Openings
- Tasks and Projects
- Payments
Within each of these modules, our customers have a full set of capabilities to configure the functionality to meet the specific needs of their organization.
The Worksuite differentiator
The differentiator of Worksuite compared to other technologies is the deeply integrated crossover between these modules. Your freelance talent is at the center of all your modules – but not all of your managers need to be involved in each step.
You might have a finance team reviewing and scheduling payments, while your resource managers create tasks. At the same time, your recruiters can review candidate profiles in the job openings, and a producer can review profiles in your talent directory. And while your teams are busy working in these modules – hundreds of individuals in your talent network are completing their automated onboarding through your custom workflow.
All of the Worksuite modules can be accessed individually – but they’re all inherently connected, giving you incredible flexibility and transparency into your talent management.
Here’s an example:
One of our more common use cases that requires all five modules is the request-to-pay scenario. This is where an upcoming task can be shared with multiple available resources who bid on the task, which is then assigned to a resource.
The Worksuite system automatically creates a task/project. When this is completed, an invoice is raised on the task. This flows into the payments module, which then pays out the talent to the bank information they provided in their onboarding workflow.
The workflow that drives the request-to-task (also known as Requisitions or Opportunity-to-Task feature) is the underlying building block. This is reused infinite times across multiple request scenarios, which all lead to a unified & streamlined request-to-pay.
