Substantive Labour Code 1950; Section 177 (Pay on Public Holidays)
Workers are entitled to paid holidays during Festival (public and religious) holidays. These are 18 in number. Twelve of these are religious (catholic) holidays while the remaining six are civic holidays. These days are:
- New Year’s Day (January 01),
- Epiphany (January 06),
- Saint Joseph’s Day (March 24),
- Palm Sunday (April 13),
- Holy Thursday (April 17),
- Good Friday (April 18),
- Labour Day (May 01),
- Ascension Day (June 02),
- Cor pus Christi (June 23),
- Feast of the Sacred Heart/ St. Peter & Paul’s Day (June 30),
- Independence Day (July 20),
- Battle of Boyacá (August 07),
- Assumption Day (August 18),
- Dia de la Raza/Columbus Day (October 13),
- All Saints’ Day (November 03),
- Independence of Cartagena (November 11),
- Immaculate Conception Day (December 08) and
- Christmas (December 25).
