Severance Pay Compensation Law, 1963

Provides that a person who has been continuously employed for one year or, in the case of a seasonal employee, has been employed for two seasons in two consecutive years, by the same employer or at the same place of employment and has been dismissed is entitled to receive severance pay from the employer who has dismissed him. Detailed provisions on continuity of employment, death of employer or employee, resignation of parent (female worker), resignation by reason of transfer of residence, non-renewal of contract of employment, rate of severance pay and related matters.
