In Brazil, labour inspection falls within the competence of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, embodied in its organizational structure, by the Labour Inspection Secretariat who is responsible for establishing guidelines and for undertaking inspection activities that are implemented by the decentralized branches of the Ministry while the Superintendências Regionais do Trabalho is responsible monitoring the implementation of enforcement actions, promoting research and in examining proposals for legislative changes relating to the world of work.
